Everyone that comes into the store always makes comments about our tray of Lego. Most people when they think of Lego cant possibly believe that it could be used in beading projects. If they can they think of more the classic bricks rather than the small pieces that are available. Some of the flowers and bricks are really more like a resin shape with prints or raised sections: when used in beading its not until the customer really looks at the pieces and see the Lego raised logo do they actually realize what it is.

I made these Lego pendants using our simple resin molds and a 2 part epoxy resin that i sourced from our local hardware store. Unfortunately we cant sell resin due to freight restrictions, but a gloss coat polyester 2 part resin would work just fine. With resin the main thing that you need to be sure of is the temperature IE. you wouldn’t want to try and set it if the temperature was under 20 degrees, so its best to wait till a semi warm part of the day in an area with well ventilation. You can then layer the Lego into the bottom of the mold and then pour the resin in and around. To add extra or move around Lego pieces you can just use a skewer. Once set you should just be able to pop the resin out of the mold and then glue the bail on.

Alot of our customers when they view our range of pocket watch crowns they really don’t know how to incorporate them into their pieces. Really they-re just like small vintage detailed sea urchins, but because they have no holes, you need to either layer them on a base or use some 22 gauge wire to create a loop on the top. I made this ring with a filigree ring base and layers crowns. They are first glued down with bead fix and then glossy accents are used to adhere the swarovski crystal flat backs and also in-between the crowns to keep them into place. Its a really chunky and one off piece that im sure will be popular

The range includes butterflies, tickets, shapes, cards , typewriter keys and more. The imagery on them makes them look next to the real vintage product at a fraction of the price. They are quite lightweight and feature a black backing and matte front, which you can choose if you would like to enhance with some crystal lacquer for a gloss effect. To use them you can simply adhere them onto a base, or to turn them into a pendant or connector you can use our range of bails

We have just received a new shipment of altered art supplies.

Enameling fluxe resin : This comes in a bottle of 57gm (2oz) and consists of fine particles. For use with wood, metal and polymer clay it is one of the simplest ways to create a professional look with bezels and altered art projects. To use you need to cover the project with the granules or in the case of bezels fill enough to the top, and then heat in an oven to 121 degrees for around about 10-15 minutes. The finish is a clear professional resin look that doesnt have any bubbles.

In this example i have used some of our keepsake pendants and vintage empherema sheets with the fluxe enameling glaze on the top.( pictured underneath )

Gel De Soleil Sunlight Curing resin : This new product is a resin that cures in the sun underneath a uv lamp in 15 minutes. It hardens over the next 2 hours. Unlike
other kinds of resins it already comes in a mixed bottle so you just need to fill the bezel with the resin and expose it to complete

We also have new bezel settings available in gold and silver plated. Use them
in combination with our paper punches to create your own vintage pendants
and projects. A great new product we also have is the typewriter set 16pc which
includes 16pc antique silver bezels, a sheet of antique typewriter stickers and
domed stickers. You can either use them to create the typewriter charms or cut your own images out to customize !
