Traditionally sequins have been used in both costumes and crafts, but lately I have noticed the versatility of this fabulous little item.  Sequins are also great value, you can create an effective look with less product than you would need with beads.

So reconsider this simple product and add some razzle dazzle to your next project!

snowflake sequins bracelet project kit

In this bracelet I’ve used a packet of snowflake sequins in varying tones of blue, combined with 6/0 seed beads and 11/0 delica seed beads. The base strand is made of one strand of 6/0 seed beads.  Then each seed bead has been sewn to attach one sequin which is threaded on with 3 x delica seed beads and then threaded back into the snowflake sequin and up the next 6/0 seed. This same step is repeated up and down the beads until there is a bunched effect overall. The 3 delica beads cause a triangle picot result.

Round Sequin Earrings : I’ve made these light fresh earrings with a large sequin round and some Swarovski crystal bicones. A packet of 11gms in assorted colours is only $3.50 AUD and you could create maybe 50 earrings, so it is really great value for such a component.

sequin-ring

Finally, I’ve created this snowflake ring with the gold plated seive ring base and fine 28 gauge wire. The snowflakes are stacked into a pile and then accented with 5×10mm teardrop crystals in a sapphire blue. I’ve then finished by bending the ends of the snowflakes which has added further depth to the ring.
