At the recent Sound Aid concert to raise money for the Victorian Bushfire and Queensland Flood victims, most musicians were playing it save and wearing very little jewellery. I find lately celebrities aren’t wearing much jewellery to events, they wear beautiful yet safe outfits and I have come to the conclusion that it must be a consequence of the worst dressed scandals.
I did notice this ring worn by Olivia Newton John when she performed the finale with Barry Gibb. I’m not sure who it was made by but it seems to be constructed of a navette oval shaped ring with crystals and bugle shaped beads. Rings with “bling” are very popular at the moment, with Heidi Klum and Beyoncé Knowles both sporting similar statement rings at the Academy Awards.

To replicate this style, on a 14kt gold plated hammered ring base I have used a brass oval base and filled it with a two part resin especially designed for crystals. I used clear crystal stones, bugle beads and size 11 seed beads to create the effect pictured above. I’ve also matched this with some earrings.
